Hi there!

Firstly – let me introduce myself, my name is Steve Gaskin, I’m an Aussie and since we Aussies are known for being direct and to the point – let me state CLEARLY and up front – I am very much, ANTI most commercial dog food!

I am not going to pull any punches – I sincerely believe that MOST commercial dog food (obviously there are exceptions) is pretty poor quality, and recent and past stories of dog food contamination, will support those claims! I mean WHY put imported Chinese wheat gluten in dog food any way – gluten is a very poor protein source – and as we know; many humans cannot even tolerate it!

BUT many people today expect information on the Internet to be FAST and to the point; so – I will try to summarise VERY quickly.

The great majority of lower priced canned and dry Commercial dog-food is so low quality, that you really SHOULD NOT feed it to any dog you care about! Don’t take my word for it though – click here to read the Animal Protection Institutes opinion!

Why is that – well in a nutshell, many commercial dog foods manufacturers package cheap, low grade – and even rubbishy ingredients into cans or bags – tempt you with wonderful pictures of prime cuts of meat, vegetables, and grains – toss in a couple of pictures of happy people with their dogs running across the TV screen and then sell you on the convenience of their food!

Their advertising works so well, that when you try and tell a person this – they get really defensive and faithfully back up the dog food company? I never cease to be amazed at the loyalty people express to these companies?

They make BILLIONS of dollars – selling you and your dog – human and agricultural waste products in a can or bag!
